Adrian College presents Latinas en Lenawee
ADRIAN: Adrian College presents the exhibit Latinas en Lenawee in the Heritage Room of Shipman Library as part of the College’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The exhibit runs from September 15th through October 10th 2008.
Latinas en Lenawee is a photo and text exhibit highlighting the accomplishments of the many Latinas who live and work in Lenawee County. These include women from the U.S., México, and Guatemala. These women work in classrooms, kitchens, offices and shops; they are social workers, artists, mothers and neighbors. The women were selected to represent the diversity among Latinas in the county in terms of careers, age, education, country of origin, and other characteristics.
The display is organized by Idalí Feliciano, Director of Multicultural Student Services at Adrian College and Don Cellini, a faculty member in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures.
The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular Library hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00 A.M. – 11:00 P.M., Friday 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., Saturday noon-5:00 P.M. and Sunday noon – 11:00 P.M.
The Heritage Room is located in Shipman Library off of Williams Street on the Adrian College campus. For more information on the exhibit please contact Idalí Feliciano at 517-264-3278 or via e-mail at [email protected].
