The Lorain County Latino Celebration is September 20 and 21, 2008. This event has been created as a part of National Hispanic Heritage Month which begins September 15 and ends on October 15.

The Lorain County Latino Celebration begins Saturday September 20, from 7 pm – 9 pm, at the Lorain Palace Theater for a movie called “Yo Soy Boricua Pa que Lo Sepa,” which translates to “I am proud to be Puerto Rican, so that you know it

It’s a film narrated by actor Jimmy Smith that explains the Puerto Rican history, experience, and culture (both on the island and main land). This movie will enlighten both Puerto Ricans and non Puerto Ricans about the issues, traditions and the culture that influenced the Puerto Rican community of Yesterday and Today. The director and producer is Rosie Pérez.

On Sunday September 21, 2008 from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm in cooperation with the Lorain County Metroparks, at Lakeview Park in the City of Lorain, we will have music, food, dancing, displays, and an overall celebration.
