Hispanic Forum on Sept. 23

CLEVELAND: On Tuesday, September 23, 2008, the Hispanic Round Table will host the “Hispanic Convention Community Forum” from 6:00-8:00pm. Held at the West Tech Lofts (formerly West Tech High School, 2201 West 93rd Street, Cleveland), the reception will include music, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

“The purpose of the event is to provide a progress update to the community and report on the resolutions passed at last year’s Convención Hispana 2007,” said Baker Hostetler partner José Feliciano, who is founder and current Chairman of the Hispanic Roundtable, the parent organization. “The resolutions are the basis of the strategic plan to address the issues and needs of this community.”

Convención Hispana 2007, the largest Hispanic/Latino community engagement and empowerment gathering in Northern Ohio, took place in October 2007 and drew nearly 2,000 attendees. Topics addressed at the convention included: Business and Economic Development, Civic Involvement, Community Development, Education, Health, and Social Services.

The Hispanic Roundtable Community Programs is a non-profit organization whose mission is to act as a catalyst to empower the Hispanic Community to become full partners in the economic, education, political, civic, and social life of Greater Cleveland.
