Spanish-speaking workshop on rebuilding credit, Sept. 13

Lucas County Commissioner Ben Konop, Lucas County Treasurer Wade Kapszukiewicz, and Ohio State Treasurer Richard Cordray have joined forces to offer the first “Rebuild Your Credit” workshop for Spanish-speaking residents in the Northwest Ohio area.

Residents are invited to attend the credit workshop on Saturday, September 13, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the South Toledo Branch Library.  Free parking will be available at the Library and a free continental breakfast will be served.

A weak local and national economy makes every single dollar a precious resource for local families.  In this environment, a family’s credit score becomes more and more important as they achieve financial stability.

According to the Fair Isaac Corporation, the nation’s leading credit monitoring organization, a low credit score could force a family to pay thousands of dollars more per year on an average $150,000 mortgage than would a family with a high credit score.
