Disc Dogs To Headline MetroBarks Festival
Disc Dogs A2Z, a national touring act of canine athletes, will headline this year’s MetroBarks Festival, Saturday, August 23, 2008, at Secor Metropark. The free family event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
MetroBarks is all about the dogs, with pet-friendly vendors, mini-dog races, a best dressed contest and longest/shortest tail contests. The band Vital Signs will perform throughout the day.

This year’s special guest performers will be Disc Dogs AtoZ, a team of performing pooches that has appeared on Animal Planet, Discovery, ESPN, and other networks. The team of Frisbee-catching canines has entertained crowds at numerous sporting events such as Patriots, Giants, Redskins, Eagles, and Mets games, as well as dog festivals throughout the Eastern United States.
Throughout the day, the National Center for Nature Photography will be open, free of charge. The current featured artist is Jim Brandenburg, National Geographic photographer, whose show, “Touch the Sky,” includes 44 images of spectacular scenes from the Western prairies.
The exhibit is part of Metropark’s Year of the Prairie celebration.
