Puerto Rican Home Club turns 51

 

Lorain: Last August, The Puerto Rican Home Club celebrated its 50th year anniversary with a highly successful weekend festival.

 

This year, the Club is sponsoring its first parade, scheduled to commence this Saturday, August 9, 2008, at approximately 11:30AM, at 31st and Vine Streets, Lorain. The parade will end up at the Club on 28th Street.

According to Rosie Reyes, Club member Diana Marrero-Pinto was instrumental in the coordination of the parade. Reyes further informed La Prensa that there would be a Domino Tournament at the Club on Friday and Saturday.

 

On Friday, there would also be a Talent Show, and, on Saturday, a Car and Motorcycle Exhibition.
 

Current Officers of the Club are: Juan Silva (Pres.), Nelson Rosas (Vice Pres.), Rosie Reyes (Treasurer), and Denise Velez (Secretary).
