The Cleveland Museum of Art gears up for Garage Grooves CMA’s Popular Tradition of Live Music, Food and Drink returns with a twist on August 1
The Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) continues its tradition of presenting free fabulous outdoor concerts with a new twist this summer.
Garage Grooves, a series of Friday night garage rooftop jazz performances kicks off on August 1, 2008, at CMA.
Garage Grooves offers guests a diverse mix of some of the area’s most talented jazz ensembles as they perform outdoors on the top deck of the parking garage on Friday, August 1, 15, and 29, 2008, with live music from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. Admission is Free. Beer, wine, and other refreshments are for sale in the garage. Space is limited and on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations are not accepted. The museum galleries will also be open until 9 p.m., free of charge.

WHAT: Garage Grooves – free, outdoor jazz concerts on the rooftop of the CMA parking garage.
WHEN: Friday, August 1, 2008 – All Ellington Night, with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, 6 p.m. till 10:00 p.m.
Friday, August 15, 2008 – Latin Jazz Night, with The Roberto Ocasio Latin Jazz Project, 6 p.m. till 10:00 p.m.. Also “Heavy Metal in the Arms and Armor Gallery” 6 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.
The first 50 people to participate get to experience this hands on exhibit for free.
Friday, August 29, 2008 – Swing Night, with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra 6 p.m. till 10 p.m.
WHERE: The top deck of the CMA parking garage, 11150 East Boulevard in Cleveland’s University Circle District.
COST: Free admission to the concert; parking for a fee in the museum’s 600+ space parking garage; cash bar and refreshments.
RAIN PLAN: Concerts will be cancelled for rain. Call (216) 707-2260 on the day of the event for a recording about the weather plan.
