Lorain County Democratic Party honors Thomas J. Smith

Lorain: On Friday May 16, 2008, the Lorain County Democratic Party holds the 4^th Annual Chairman’s Banquet. This year, the banquet honors Thomas J. Smith, the Lorain County Democratic Party Chairman, for his efforts on behalf of Lorain County and the Democratic Party. 

The banquet features Governor Ted Strickland as the keynote speaker, with special guests U.S. Congresswomen Marcy Kaptur and Betty Sutton. 

Smith was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1966 and the United States Supreme Court Bar in 1994. He has been involved in countless programs and initiatives throughout Lorain County, including: Lorain County Planning Commission, Lorain County Board of Elections, Elyria Memorial Hospital Foundation, Leadership Lorain County, and Elyria Catholic Endowment Fund. He is a member of the Lorain County, Ohio State and American Bar Associations.

Keynote Speaker: Governor Ted Strickland

The banquet will be held at Lorain County Community College’s Spitzer Conference Center, located at 1005 North Abbe Road Elyria, OH 44035. Cocktails are from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm and the dinner and ceremony are from 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm. Tickets are $125 per person or $200 per couple. Reservations are required and must be confirmed by May 9.
