Michigan's regional jobless rates for January
LANSING, March 19, 2008 (AP): Michigan's regional unadjusted jobless rates for January ranged from a low of 4.8 percent in Ann Arbor to a high of 12.4 percent in northeast lower Michigan.
The state's major labor market areas, their seasonally unadjusted jobless rates for January and the change since December:
Ann Arbor, 4.8 percent, up from 4.7 percent.
Battle Creek, 7.2 percent, up from 6.8 percent.
Bay City, 7.6 percent, up from 7 percent.
Detroit-Warren-Livonia, 8.2 percent, up from 8 percent.
Flint, 9.5 percent, up from 8.2 percent.
Grand Rapids-Wyoming, 6.3 percent, up from 5.9 percent.
Holland-Grand Haven, 6.1 percent, up from 5.8 percent.
Jackson, 8 percent, up from 7.6 percent.
Kalamazoo-Portage, 6 percent, up from 5.7 percent.
Lansing-East Lansing, 6.1 percent, up from 5.7 percent.
Monroe, 8 percent, up from 6.6 percent.
Muskegon-Norton Shores, 7.5 percent, up from 7 percent.
Niles-Benton Harbor, 7.6 percent, up from 7.2 percent.
Saginaw-Saginaw Township North, 8.2 percent, up from 7.3 percent.
Upper Peninsula, 8.8 percent, up from 8.1 percent.
Northeast Lower Michigan, 12.4 percent, up from 11.1.
Northwest Lower Michigan, 9.2 percent, up from 8.5 percent.
