LANSING, MARCH 19, 2008 (AP): The debate about changing Michigan's rules guiding health insurance for individuals who aren't covered by employer or government plans may not end anytime soon.

During the next few weeks, Senate Republicans will debate at least two separate proposals affecting the market. The competing proposals come on top of a plan that already has been passed by the House.

All of the proposals are different, according to details released Wednesday in the Senate Health Policy Committee.

The House-approved bills are favored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan but opposed by some of the company's rivals.
