Mayor Frank Jackson to Give State of the City Address to The City Club of Cleveland

CLEVELAND: Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson will give his annual State of the City address on Thursday, February 28, 2008, to The City Club of Cleveland. The Special Forum will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 777 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

 

A native Clevelander, Jackson attended public schools, earned his associates degree at Cuyahoga Community College, and earned his bachelors, masters and law degrees at Cleveland State University. He was elected to the Cleveland City Council in 1989 to represent Ward 5 and also served as chair of the Community and Economic Development Committee during the White administration.

 

In 2002, Jackson was elected by the 21-member City Council to serve as City Council president. In November 2005, he was elected to serve as Cleveland’s 56th mayor.

 

The Forum, which is sold out, will be broadcast live on News Channel 5 WEWS-TV, WKYC-TV3, and 90.3 WCPN-FM. The program begins promptly at 12:20 p.m. This Forum is sponsored by AT&T.
