Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund now accepting scholarship applications
January 28, 2008: The Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund, Inc. (NWOSF) is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship lottery. Students from low-income families who reside in Lucas, Wood, or Fulton County have an opportunity to be awarded need-based scholarships up to $1,250 per child so that they can attend private schools for kindergarten through eighth grade.
Families can add their name to the waiting list for the program by contacting the NWOSF office. They will be notified after July 1, 2008, if they are selected. When a family is selected by the lottery they will receive an award letter and be required to demonstrate their financial need as measured by standards similar to the Federal School Lunch program. This will determine the amount of their child’s scholarship, 25%, 50%, or 75% of the total tuition up to $1,250. The deadline to apply is Monday, June 2, 2008.
For more information about the program and an application visit www.nosf.org or contact the Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund office at (419) 244-6711 x 219.
