Julia De Burgos Cultural Arts Center Updates

Want to give your child, nice, nephew or grandchild a gift?  Enroll them today for guitar, percussion, piano, and or dance classes free of charge (children interested in guitar must bring his/her guitar, preferably with nylon string). Your child will learn to read music, play the instrument, and participate in cultural activities. Classes are weekly.

Monday: Guitar: 6:00pm -7:30pm (new students arrive earlier to have guitars adjusted and registration)
Folkloric Dance:
4:30-5:30pm; 5:30-6:30pm Coqui dance group practice.

Wednesday: Piano: 5:00pm-7:00pm; Percussion: 6:00pm-8:00pm (we have Congas & Timbales for student’s use while in class).

Thursday: Ballet Folklorico- 5:00pm -7:00pm (Teenage dance group, enrollment open to males interested in joining the group).

Julia De Burgos Cultural Arts Center Updates:

40th anniversary of the Puerto Rican Parade & Latino Fest will be held on July 18-20, 2008. Councilman Joe Santiago will be sponsoring the event.  Reply to email if you wish to help in make this a great event. Meetings are opened to the public.

Project Coqui Youth Leadership Development: The group has been meeting since September 2007.
