Think College Now students recognized

Toledo: Yalona Blair from Woodward High School and Michelle Ellis from Rogers High School were recognized as Students of the Month for the month of December by Think College Now. The students were recognized for superior grades and interest in pursuing careers associated with finance.  The Student of the Month ceremony was held on December 20, 2007 at Rogers High School.

Think College Now has been running for four successful years, with the mission of providing an opportunity for students in Northwest Ohio, who have the desire and have developed the requisite skills, to obtain education beyond high school. The program helps public school children in underserved communities to apply for post-secondary programs and includes career exploration, ACT/SAT preparation work, help filing for financial aid, and making college and apprenticeship visits.

Thanks to a recent $10,000 contribution from the Key Foundation (a Foundation fully funded by KeyBank (NYSE:
KEY)), the Think College Now program includes a Student of the Month program whereby one math student from each of two schools will be recognized for superior grades and interest in pursuing careers associated with finance.  The student will receive a TA83 Plus scientific calculator and have a professional photo taken, which will then be on display at the school and in local KeyBank branches.

The Student of the Month will have the opportunity to shadow a banker for a day and receive a “Student of the Month” polo shirt.   The program will run in both Rogers High School and Woodward High School, both Toledo public schools, for the 2007-2008 school year.
