Tony Krasienko is sworn in as Lorain’s alcalde

Dec. 29, 2007: In the presence of a very supportive family and standing-room only audience, Democrat Tony Krasienko was sworn in as Lorain’s new mayor by U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, at Lorain City Hall.

Krasienko, who was to begin his term on January 2, 2008, was concerned with safety and announced several appointments, including councilman Dan Given as his new safety-service director and safety-service deputy directors Richard Romero and Ken Shawver.

Chase Ritenauer will serve as his administrative assistant.

Krasienko was especially appreciative of his supportive familia—wife Melisa (who recently experienced the loss of her father, Ramón O. Garza Sr.) and children Erica (16), Kristin (13), Mark (12), and Luke (11).
