This is the ninth biennial exhibition of contemporary fine art photography by photographers from throughout the United States presented by TFOP.
Three hundred sixty-seven artists submitted over 1000 images to the scrutiny of juror Todd Hido from San Francisco, California. Acclaimed nationally and internationally for his own unsettling images of the suburban landscape, Hido selected eighty-three black & white and color images created by 69 individuals for inclusion in the exhibition.
The gallery hours for viewing the exhibition are 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and Sundays 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Exhibition juror Todd Hido will present a lecture and slide presentation of his work on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Haigh Auditorium of the CVA. At the completion of Todd Hido’s presentation, he will announce the exhibition award winners and a reception will follow in the CVA.
Since its initial presentation in 1991, TFOP’s National Juried Photography Exhibition has become the leading venue outside of a museum setting for viewing contemporary fine art photography in the greater Toledo area. The presentation of the exhibition enables area residents to gain greater exposure to the medium of fine art photography, increasing their awareness of what is being created in the medium by current artists.
It is the hope of TFOP that the viewing of exhibition images will help educate area residents, encouraging them to explore the creative possibilities of photography throughout their life.
