JUNIOR LEAGUE OF TOLEDO HOSTS FORMER PRESIDENT OF MEXICO, VICENTE FOX AT THE SOFIA QUINTERO CENTER AND TOLEDO AFTER HOURS

TOLEDO, OHIO: In conjunction with his upcoming visit to speak at the Junior League of Toledo’s Toledo After Hours event, on Thursday, February 1, 2007, Former President of México Vicente Fox will accompany Junior League members to The Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center, an area institution dedicated to cultural diversity and advancing opportunities in the arts, education, and cultural fields for the Latino community.

1

Fox will be joined by local Latino leaders at a luncheon at the Center, located at 1225 South Broadway Avenue at 12:00 p.m.  A timeline of activities for the day is included below.

“We are pleased that President Fox will join us at the Sofia Quintero Center in addition to speaking at Toledo After Hours.  By attending the luncheon, he is helping us to broaden his exposure to the Toledo community, specifically, the Latino population.  We are proud to show him one of Toledo’s resources for Latino arts and culture.” says Becca Gorman, President of the Junior League.  Art work from students in one of the programs at the Sofia Quintero Center will also be displayed at the Valentine Theatre during Toledo After Hours.

Vicente Fox’s appearance at Toledo After Hours will generate the needed funding for the Junior League of Toledo’s current community service projects focused on health and wellness issues: Camp Little Shots; Food and Fitness; Toledo Smiles and Done in a Day.

Over the past 17 years, Toledo After Hours has raised over a million dollars to benefit the community through projects and activities developed, implemented and carried out by Junior League of Toledo’s trained volunteers.
