Dear Economic Development Professionals:
The NEO Immigrant & Minority Business Alliance (IMBA) has received 12 scholarships for Immigrant/Minority-Owned Businesses to attend the newly-established, state-of-the-art Direct Marketing Institute at the University of Akron.
IMBA is now inviting immigrant/minority-owned businesses to apply for this scholarship.
The 2-Day Course will be held January 19, 2006 and February 2, 2007, at the Taylor Marketing Institute, University of Akron College of Business, from 8:00AM to Noon. Included in the Scholarship will be course materials, tuition, and breakfast.
Course description: Integrated Direct Marketing Communication. Focuses on the communication tools and tactics used in a successful direct marketing strategy to initially reach and sustain contact with a firm’s best prospects and customers. The primary emphasis is on the functionality of an integrated direct marketing “toolbox” that includes targeted advertising, sales promotion, direct response, public relations and face-to-face presentations. The course will center not simply on outbound activities by the firm but also inbound actions by prospects and clients. At the end of the course, business owners will have a broad and comprehensive view of the resources available to communicate effectively as direct marketers and how to use those resources in the right ways.
