LCCC and LCSCC present Zero-Proof Mix-Off
For the sixth year, Lorain County Safe Community Coalition (LCSCC) and Lorain County Community College (LCCC) are teaming up to present the Zero-Proof Mix-Off, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, in the College Center Mall at LCCC.
To help create awareness of the importance of offering non-alcoholic drink options to holiday guests, 17 local agencies, businesses, and clubs have entered the competition to mix-up a winning non-alcoholic drink. Local celebrity judges will give awards for best overall drink; best tasting drink, best presentation and best name. The public will be able to vote for a people’s choice winner and have an opportunity to win door prizes as well as enjoy refreshments.

Zero-Proof Mix-Off is part of the “Drunk Driving: Over the Limit. Under Arrest” campaign sponsored by the LCSCC and the Ohio Department of Public Safety. So far in 2007, eight of the 21 fatal traffic accidents in Lorain County involved alcohol, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The event is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to attend. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held the same time and place on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007.
