Ohio Village Celebrates Dickens of a Christmas
Experience Old-Fashioned Holiday Food and Fun
COLUMBUS , Ohio , Nov. 26, 2007 – A Victorian Christmas returns to Ohio Village in December as the Ohio Historical Society presents festive holiday events inspired by Charles Dickens’ enduring classic, “A Christmas Carol.”
Dickens of a Christmas takes place on Fridays and Saturdays, Dec. 7-8 and Dec. 14-15, from 6-9 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 16, noon-5 p.m. The spirit of Dickens comes to life through British actor Roger Jerome portraying the author himself, a cast of characters from Dickens’ stories, period entertainment including a puppet show and a “mummer’s” play, hands-on traditional holiday crafts, making plum pudding, caroling by the Ohio Village Singers and many more Victorian holiday traditions.

Tickets may be purchased at the gate for $11 for adults, $8 for children ages 6-12 years, $9 and $6 for OHS members. Children ages 5 and under are admitted at no charge. Parking is $4 per vehicle and free to OHS members. For more information, call 614.297.2300 or 800.686.6124.
For those looking scrumptious holiday meals, the American House Hotel at Ohio Village will serve Dickens of a Dinner on Dec. 7-8 and Dec. 14-15 at 6 p.m., and Christmas Brunch at Ohio Village on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Guests will be greeted by the venerable author himself, Charles Dickens while the Ohio Village Singers sing traditional holiday carols. Dinner is $57 per person or $47 per person for Ohio Historical Society members. Brunch is $35 for adults and $15.95 for children ages 6-12. Did you ever wonder what happened to Scrooge after his Christmas Eve reformation? Find out in Dickens of a Murder on Friday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m. at the American House Hotel at Ohio Village . After the holiday dinner buffet, guests will witness a series of events and be asked to help solve the mystery. Ticket prices are $57 per person and $4 parking or $47 for OHS members.
