Meijer releases `Black Friday' ads early

Nov. 12, 2007 (AP): Many of the nation’s largest retailers are offering big discounts and door-buster specials aimed at early holiday shoppers.

Macy’s started doing it early this month.

And now Meijer says its shoppers don’t have to wait until Thanksgiving to see the discounts the Grand Rapids, Michigan, retailer will offer on “Black Friday.”

Traditionally, Black Friday was the sales’ day after Thanksgiving.

Meijer’s advertisements for its sales on Nov. 22, 23 and 24, 2007 are available at all 181 of its stores in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky.
