GM entertains the Latino media

Detroit: General Motors Advertising and Media Operations held its first-ever “Hispanic Media Immersion Day” on Nov. 7-8, 2007 at its headquarters at the Renaissance Center in Detroit.

In a statement by Betsy Lazar, Executive Director of GM Advertising and Media Operations, “We realize the Hispanic media is a trusted, powerful medium in communicating to the Latino community our appreciation for their contributions to our business, workplace, and to American culture.

“We also understand the Hispanic population is one of the nation’s largest ethnic groups and buying power of the Latino consumer currently represents more than $863 billion in the U.S.

“We respect the Latino consumer and…influential vote.”

Selected print media, including La Prensa, were able to discuss with individual vehicle unit representatives of General Motors, such as with the Hummer, Buick, Chevy, Buick, and OnStar representatives.

In the photo above, La Prensa’s Rubén Torres and Marisol Ibarra discuss various media options for General Motors, in their quest to reach-out to the Latino communities.
