La Prensa’s selected endorsements for Lorain County area

Tony Krasienko is an excellent choice for City of Lorain mayor. Since 2006, Mr. Krasienko has served the Lorain Council at Large, where he chaired the finance and claims committee. He is committed to improving neighborhood safety, fighting crime, and making Lorain competitive for good jobs. He has been endorsed by Ohio Governor Ted Strickland and has the support of additional local newspapers. He is the best candidate for mayor in the City of Lorain and has the support of many Latino leaders.

Running for re-election, Bill Grace is not only the right choice for the City of Elyria, but the best choice. He has moved the City of Elyria in the right direction and supports many initiatives that help the City of Elyria. He welcomed people to the third annual Diversity Business to Business Expo at Lorain County Community College and is a supporter of the Multicultural Business Center (one of the partners of the Diversity Expo).

John Hunter is running for the first time as mayor of Sheffield Village.  John Hunter’s commitment to the community is evident by the many organizations he has worked with, including his service as a board member of the Lorain County Community College Foundation.

John Piskura is running for re-election for Mayor of Sheffield Lake. Mr. Piskura’s campaign slogan “Continue the Progress” fits nicely as he has moved Sheffield Lake in the right direction for years and continues to bring good things to Sheffield Lake.

For Council we recommend Dennis Flores who is running for 2nd Ward in the City of Lorain. Dennis has been very involved with the community and has been working hard to understand the issues that are most important to the citizens living in the 2nd Ward.

Ken Shawver is running for re-election for the position of Council President for Lorain City Council. His strong leadership skills have proven to be effective.

La Prensa strongly endorses these candidates in the Nov. 6, 2007 election.

La Prensa strongly endorses Issue #24 relative to Mental Health.
