Rosary Cathedral concert series begins Oct. 28
October 3, 2007, Toledo: Luke and Andrea Bartolomeo will open the 2007-2008 Cathedral Concert Series with a special concert at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 3 pm. The concert will include works for solo piano, piano four-hands, and chamber music by Schubert, Brahms, Haydn, Saint-Saëns, and Milhaud.
Also featured will be spirituals arranged by Moses Hogan, arrangements by Luke Bartolomeo and an original composition by Clint Fox. The concert will be performed on the cathedral’s 1921 Steinway concert grand piano.
The Bartolomeos founded the Music Schools of Northwest Ohio in September 2001. Together with their faculty, they reach over 400 students from age birth through senior citizen in all instruments, beginner through advanced. For this performance they will be joined by Allison Esposito (soprano), Clint Fox (piano), Laura Doles (clarinet), Minghuan Xu (violin), and Shandi Freed (flute).
The Batolomeos’ past experience includes serving as the Directors of Music/Organists of several churches in Diocese of Toledo. As a piano duet team, Luke and Andrea Bartolomeo have performed in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Texas.
The Cathedral Concert Series runs from October through April. The Bartolomeos and Friends concert is free and open to the public. Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral is located at 2535 Collingwood Blvd at Islington Avenue. Secured parking will be available for the 3 PM concert.
