New OCHLA Liaison hired


Lilleana Calderón Cavanaugh has been named OCHLA Community Liaison, effective Aug. 6, 2007, announced Ezra C. Escudero, OCHLA (Ohio Commission of Hispanic/Latino Affairs) Director.


A native of Costa Rica and long-term Ohio resident, she is responsible for developing liaison roles with agencies, organizations, enterprises, and institutions, whose goals are to implement programs and improve policies that focus on the Latino communities.


Calderón Cavanaugh informed La Prensa that she is in the process of compiling a list of all activities for Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15, 2007).


Editor’s Note: The August OCHLA meeting will be held on Aug. 24, 2007 at the Life Enrichment Center, 425 North Findlay St., Dayton, Ohio.
