A free seminar sponsored by the Small Business Development Center at the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Business Technology Department at the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2007, in the McMaster Center at Main Library, 325 Michigan Street, Toledo.

 

Speakers include:

_7:30 a.m. - Beth Miller, Senior Credit Analyst, Bank of Maumee/Topic: Business Ratios;

_8 a.m. - George Robinson, Certified Facilitator, FASTTRAC/Topic: FASTTRAC program;

_8:30 a.m. - Jadwiga Carlson, Owner/Entrepreneur, Accessible Web Studio, Ltd./Topic: Business Web Site Development;

_9 a.m.  - Stephen Evans, Attorney, Marshall & Melhorn/Topic: Intellectual Property

Family Fun Day Saturday at Main Library

Hundreds of families will gather on the North Lawn of Main Library, 325 Michigan Street, when the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library partners with The Coalition for Youth Enrichment (CYE) to present Family Fun Day from noon to 3:30 p.m. this Saturday, June 16, 2007.

 

Family Fun Day is a free public event in celebration of summer.  The day will feature raffles and prizes, dance and music groups, interactive family activities, inflatable games, crafts, and information tables for community organizations and agencies that serve youth and families. Parking for the event is free in Main Library’s underground garage for those in attendance (entrance off Adams Street).

 

Michigan Street, between Adams and Madison streets, will be closed to traffic during Family Fun Day.

 

Family Fun Day is sponsored in part by The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, Coalition for Youth Enrichment, United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Community Partnership, The Connecting Point, UMADAOP, and Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Lucas County.

2007 Brown Bag Concert Series

The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library’s Brown Bag Concert Series began last week with Adult Rock by Glinda’s Bubble.  The luncheon concert is a free nine-week Wednesday music event that runs from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., through August 8, 2007, on the North Lawn of Main Library, 325 Michigan Street, in downtown Toledo.

 

The Brown Bag Concert Series schedule is as follows:

June 13    Groovemaster (Reggae)

June 20    Bonkers (Oldies Rock)

June 27    Moody Flutes (Light eclectic pop)

July 11     Just Kiddin’ Around (Children’s)

July 18     The Diamonds in the Rough (Folk/Bluegrass)

July 25     Extra Stout (Irish)

August 1  Jessica Stewart Trio (Jazz)

August 8  Bandera (Country)
