COLUMBUS: Music in the Air, a program of the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, is hosting Festival Latino this weekend, Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16, at the Downtown Riverfront, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Salsa, cumbia, merengue, norteño y más will be on hand at multiple performance areas.  The 2007 lineup features: Raúl Acosta y Oro Sólido, Albita, Grupo Control, Los Askis, Javier Garcia, Forró For All, Juan José Meza y Su Orquesta and the Tommy Olivencia Show featuring his original singers Paquito Guzmán, Sammy “El Rolo” González, Simon Pérez and Hector Tricoche under the direction of Tommy Olivencia, Jr.

Savor authentic Latin American fare - tamales, empanadas, fajitas, arepas and more. Visitors can shop the Marketplace for arts and crafts, and kids can explore hands-on activities in the Chase Children’s Area and McDonald’s Family Fun Time.
