Gov. Strickland honors police

The annual Toledo Area Police Memorial Service was held on May 18, 2007 at the Memorial Garden on the Civic Center Mall.

This year’s ceremony paid special tribute to the life of Toledo Police Detective Keith Dressel, who was killed in the line of duty on Feb. 21, 2007, with a special appearance by Ohio’s Governor Ted Strickland.

Danielle Dressel, the widow of the slain officer, accepted the Blue Star Medal on behalf of her deceased husband, from TPD Chief Mike Navarre. The two photos on this page were taken by La Prensa at this memorial service.
