Tulipanes Film Fest accepting film submissions
Holland: The Tulipanes Latino Art and Film Festival is currently accepting film submissions in the categories of: Feature, Documentary, Short, and Animation. Filmmakers whose films celebrate Latino culture are welcome to submit their work for this seventh annual event.
This film fest is a regional celebration showcasing and celebrating Latino arts, history and culture through a variety of local and international venues including: music, film, poetry, live performance, visual arts, workshops, entertainment, y más. The event takes place in downtown Holland, Michigan, every Labor Day weekend. 2007 dates are Thursday, August 30-Sunday, September 2.
Tulipanes seeks to raise awareness and understanding while celebrating Latino arts, history and culture. It is the goal of Tulipanes to become a catalyst for partnerships and collaborations that strengthen community through education and meaningful relationships across ethnic groups [Mission Statement].
Criteria for film acceptance into the festival include overall cinematic quality, thematic relevance of the film to the Tulipanes mission statement and the newness of the film, with preference given to premiers. Submission deadline for the Tulipanes Latino Art & Film Festival must have a postmark deadline of July 22, 2007. Submission fees are USD$10.
