Lourdes College to host national multimedia broadcast “Chill Out: Campus Solutions to Global Warming” on April 18
In celebration of Earth Day 2007, Lourdes College will host a national multimedia broadcast sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation. “Chill Out: Campus Solutions to Global Warming” will air at 3:00 p.m., April 18, 2007, in the Student Center of Mother Adelaide Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
The multimedia broadcast is sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation and its event partners including the Earth Day Network, the Campus Climate Challenge, American Society of Landscape Architects, the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, and others. Lourdes College is among more than 70 colleges and universities across the country who have volunteered to host the broadcast, and the only one in northwest Ohio.
The broadcast will feature the winners of the National Wildlife Federation’s Chill Out contest – campuses that are implementing practical solutions for global warming; a message to college and university leaders from Al Gore; and a panel discussion by climate scientists, conservation professionals, and Chill Out contestants about environmental issues.
Displays honoring Earth Day and environmental and recycling information also will be on hand in the Student Center, including flowers and Oak Openings native plants for purchase from the Lourdes College Department of Biology.
