Chamber hosts annual awards banquet

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Ohio will be hosting its 24th annual Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Banquet at the Crown Plaza Cleveland City Center on Friday Sept 8, 2006, and as part of the ceremonies, awards will be presented to the following: Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Janet García (Nationwide Insurance); Outstanding Supporter of the Hispanic Business Community: Lorraine Vega (Keybank); Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Vincent Sánchez (83º Restaurant); Hispanic Entrepreneur of the Year (Male): Enrique Muñiz (La Borincana Food Market); and Hispanic Entrepreneur of the Year (Female): Diana Mashini (Corporate Choice Staffing).

Janet García


García is the owner of Janet García Agency with Nationwide Insurance and has lived in
the city of Cleveland for over 15 years, serving on various boards such as the Spanish American Committee and the Puerto Rico Society of Cleveland.


As Senior Vice President of Corporate Diversity, Lorraine Vega is committed to developing and promoting diversity and inclusion within and beyond KeyCorp. She has contributed over 20 years of management and community-based experience to KeyCorp. Lorraine is a graduate of the National Urban/Rural Fellows, Inc. in New York, and obtained her Masters in Public Administration from Baruch College in New York and her B.S. in Education from Northeastern University.

Vicente Sánchez, a native of Caguas, Puerto Rico, is a graduate of the Puerto Rican Culinary School in San Juan, and in 2005, he opened his own establishment, 83º Caribbean Restaurant, located at 6212 Memphis Avenue in Cleveland.

Enrique Muñiz, Jr. is the owner of La Borincana Foods; he is a graduate of Myers, where he graduated cum laude in Business Administration.

Diana Mashini is the founder and CEO of Corporate Choice Staffing Services, Inc., located in Lyndhurst. Corporate Choice specializes in placing top executive administrative assistants, administrative assistants, legal secretaries, staff accountants, and other office-support personnel on a direct hire basis with companies in Cleveland Metro.
