TPS students visit OSU
On Oct. 27, a group of 18 outstanding Latino Toledo Public School students will visit the campus of Ohio State University to explore the options of becoming Buckeyes after their graduation.
This will be the first time students from TPS have visited the OSU campus for recruitment purposes.
La Prensa will present an exclusive report by Senior Correspondent Alan Abrams and photographs documenting this historic event for Toledo’s Latino community in our Nov. 1 election issue.
Here’s a list of the students and their high schools:
From Libbey HS: Henry Maldonado and Arturo Ordonez; From Woodward HS: Stephanie Shipman;

From Waite HS: Manuel Martínez: Josh Carmona, Samantha Pecina, Adrianna Escareno, Robert Castilleja, Alceecia Segura, and Jacob Moreno; From Bowsher HS: Analicia Duell, Samantha García, Amanda Lowrie, and Esteban Garibaldo; and From Whitmer HS: Xico Hernández, Steve Flores, Gabriel López, and Ilese Fernández.
They will be accompanied by four adults: Alberto Flores (Libbey HS Spanish teacher), David Ibarra (Whitmer Assistant Principal), José Luna (Bilingual Educational Coordinator for Toledo Public Schools), and Stephanie García, the mother of Analicia Duell of Bowsher HS.
