Authentic Mexican music returns to Oakland Community College

Farmington Hills MI: Oakland Community College presents a performance of authentic Mexican music by Mariachi Especial “Alma de Mexico,” Friday, November 10 at the Orchard Ridge Campus in Farmington Hills.  The event marks the third annual appearance at OCC by the popular eight-member group.

Mariachi Especial “Alma de Mexico” is sponsored by the OCC Global Education Committee.  Proceeds benefit the Oaxaca Project, an international exchange program between OCC and educational institutions in the southwestern Mexican state of Oaxaca.

The two-hour program begins at 7:30 p.m. in the campus’ Smith Theatre.  Advanced admission is $10 for students, $12 for seniors and $15 for adults.  Tickets are available at all OCC bookstores, or by phone. Tickets will also be available at the door at $13 for students, $15 for seniors and $18 for adults.  Refreshments will be available. For tickets call (248) 341-2270.

The Orchard Ridge Campus is located at 27055 Orchard Lake Road, just south of I-696.  Ample free parking is available in nearby campus lots.
