Painting with Paper and Denise Fleming
The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library presents, “Painting With Paper,” a traveling exhibition of original children’s book illustrations by Denise Fleming, scheduled to run Saturday, October 21 through Wednesday, December 20 in the Gallery (2nd floor) of Main Library, 325 Michigan St. This exhibit is free and open to all ages.

A Reception and Grand Opening Celebration with the award-winning Toledo-reared author and illustrator is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, and is open to the public. A lecture and book-signing with the author is planned, along with craft activities for children and books available for purchase courtesy of the local bookstore, Reading Railroad: A Children’s Bookstore.
This traveling exhibition from the National Center of Children’s Illustrated Literature includes 83 pieces of brilliantly colored, handmade paper pulp illustrations from Fleming’s books, including the Caldecott Honor winning book, In the Small, Small Pond.
