Mexican Mutual Society hosts annual Cinco de Mayo Parade and Baile
 

Lorain: This Saturday, May 6, the Mexican Mutual Society hosts its annual Cinco de Mayo Parade and Cultural Baile.
 

Aurora Santiago-Flores is this year’s Cinco de Mayo Queen. Aurora is 5 years old, attends school in Athens, Ohio, where her mother attends college.

Aurora likes to swim and ice state. Her parents are Liana Flores and Carlos Santiago; her maternal grandparents are Jorge and Gloria Flores of Lorain. Aurora will be escorted by her brother, Miguel Santiago-Flores.

This year’s Princess is Alexa Hernández, 5 yrs old. Her parents are Eric and Tracy Hernández and her paternal grandparents are Frank and Teresa Hernández.

The Duchess is Ana-Lissa Borges, 5 yrs old. Her parents are Kevin and Morica Borges; her maternal grand parents are Ray Ybarra and Yolanda Kistenmaker.

Duchess 1 is Bianca Berrios 5yrs old, daughter of John and Lilly Berrios; her maternal grandparents are Sal and Lillian Velez.

Duchess 2 is Kiara Amador, 5 yrs old; her parents are Matt and Cherron Amador; her paternal grandparents are Ramón and Debbie Amador.

Duchess 3 is Marissa Vince, 5yrs old. Her parents are Joseph and Michelle Vince and her maternal grandparents are Reuben and Marilyn López.

Aurora will reign over the Cinco de Mayo celebration which begins with a parade that starts at 4:00PM at Vine & 31st Streets, traveling east on 31st Street, then turning south on Seneca Street, then turning west on Homewood Drive, and then turning south on Pearl Street, and onward to Sacred Heart Church Hall (4301 Pearl Avenue).

The parade features Mariachi Zelaya from Indianapolis who will also perform at the church until 7:00PM, when the Little Queen coronation begins.

The Alma de México dancers will perform. The dance features music by Beto & Sus

Groupo Potente from 8:00PM to 12:00 Midnight.

According to Marie Leibas and David Flores of the Mexican Mutual Society, admission is $15.00, $12 for seniors. Cash bar and Mexican food will be available.
