LatinoFest is June 9 and 10 says DJ Freddy G, who will also be part of this Sunday’s Cinco de Mayo festivities at the Zoo

Ohioan Freddy G (Gutiérrez), like Sylvestre Durán, has been an extremely popular DJ and community activist.  He has been a DJ for many years at WFOB 1430AM (Fostoria) and WBGU 88.1FM (Bowling Green) and often DJs at festivals, including the celebration of Cinco de Mayo this Sunday at the Toledo Zoo, scheduled for May 7, from 11:00AM to 4:00PM, where música latina, Mexican folkloric dance, salsa workshops, crafts, and other activities are slated.

Freddy G advised La Prensa that the sixth LatinoFest will be held at Promenade Park in downtown Toledo on Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10.  Friday’s fest is a collaboration with K100 radio and will feature primarily Country bands along with Vizión.

Freddy G, who chairs LatinoFest’s Entertainment Committee, stated:  “Saturday’s entertainment headliner is Tejano Music Award’s Female Entertainer and Vocalist of the Year Shelly Lares (one of the Grammy-nominated Los Tres Divas and is also known as Little Miss Dynamite) of San Antonio, Texas.  Entertainment includes Sammy De León of Cleveland (salsa) and Toledo’s Dezeo (tejano).” Admission is $7.
