TPS hosts 11^th Latina/o art exhibit

On Tuesday, May 2nd, the 11th Annual Latino/a High School/Jr. High Art show opened with a reception at the South Branch Library in Toledo’s Old South End. 

Emily Vargas placed second in Creativity

According to José Luna of the Toledo Public Schools, the show is sponsored by Toledo Public Schools’ Office of Bilingual ED. & Related Programs and the Arts Council Lake Erie West.

In the high school section there were two categories, Creativity and Technique. In the Junior High one category, Creativity.  The results are as follows:

Creativity (HS):

1st- In Class by Kista Móntez (Bowsher)

2nd- Fabric by Emily Vargas (Bowsher)

3rd- Portrait of a Writer by Ashley Vanderhoff (Bowsher)

Technique (HS):

1st- Aloe by Amanda Lowrie (Bowsher)

2nd- Self-Portrait by Darriel Perkins (Bowsher)

3rd- Pine Cones by Krista Móntez (Bowsher)

Jr. High Results:

1st- Face of Jesus by Anthony Flores (Jones Jr)

2nd- Last Years Footwear by Diana Buenvista (Jones Jr)

3rd- My Savior by Michael Estrada (Jones Jr)
