Dear Community Members,
Please take the time to support and recognize our Latino students who have maintained a GPA of 3.0 and above. Many of us know members of our community who are included, and/or many of us have worked hard to get some of these students scholarships, work-studies, jobs, and internships that have helped in maintaining their high GPA.
I myself know that many of these students are Latino Student Union (LSU) members, attended our area high schools, and present at the Latino Youth Summit (LYS) prior or while at the University of Toledo.
What a better way to continue to support, encourage, and mentor the students than by attending this year’s 6th Annual Latino Student Recognitions. Therefore, please don’t miss this event!

.1 With the additional bonus being that three (3) very special students will be recognized for going on and beyond their 3.0, exemplifying true Latino leadership abilities that we are all very proud of. Not to mention the fact that this year, out of 271 undergraduate Latino students at UT, 139 of them have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. That in itself is something that this community should come together to celebrate!
Celebrate on March 16th, 2006, 6:30- 8:30 pm, at Libbey Hall (on the campus of UT). Traditional Latin appetizers and dessert will be served. Please RSVP at: Latino Initiatives (419)530-2992 or Email: Linda Alvarado at [email protected]
And gracias for your continued support,
Sincerely,
Linda Alvarado
