The Two Toledos celebrate 75 years

On May 30, 2006, approximately 19 representatives from the city of Toledo were on hand when Toledo City Council President Rob Ludeman (left in photo) signed documents in Toledo, Spain, celebrating and re-affirming 75 years of the Sister Cities Agreement between Toledo, Ohio and Toledo, Spain.

In the center is Toledo, Spain Mayor José Manuel Molina García, with the U.S. Ambassador to Spain looking on.

On Tuesday, June 6, 2006, Toledo City Council (Ohio) welcomed Sr. Joaquin Martin Robles, president between 1981-1991 of the Asociacion para las Relaciones Interciudades ‘Alfonso X el Sabio’ (Alphonse X the Wise Association for Inter-City Relations), of Toledo, Spain.

President Ludeman welcomed Señor Robles to Toledo, Ohio at a special reception following Council’s recognition, at the Toledo Sister Cities International offices at One Government Center, Suite 2100.
