University of Toledo, library sponsor downtown Toledo tours
 
Discover Downtown Toledo—free lunchtime walking tours—will take place on Thursdays, July 6 through Sept. 14, from 12:10 to 1:00 p.m. Sponsored by the UT Urban Affairs Center and the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, tours will be conducted rain or shine by guides trained in Toledo history and architecture.

Parking on downtown streets is free between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The tours scheduled are:

• July 6 — Where it All Began — Fort Industry Square, meet at Jefferson Avenue 
                entrance to SeaGate Centre.

 • July 13 — Holy Toledo — Trinity Church, meet at St. Clair and Adams streets.

 • July 20 — On the Water Front, meet at southeast corner of Jefferson Avenue and
                   Summit Street.

 • July 27 — Be My Valentine, meet at the corner of Adams and Superior streets.

 • Aug. 3 – Meet Me at Levis Square, meet at Madison Avenue and St. Clair Street.

 • Aug. 10 — Extreme Make Over — The Casey Pomeroy House, meet at 802 Huron St.

 • Aug. 17 — Halls of Justice — Civic Center Mall, meet at the McKinley Statue on
                   Adams Street.

 
• Aug. 24 —
Jefferson Jams, meet at Jefferson Avenue and Superior Street.

 • Aug. 31 — Meet Me at the Oliver House, meet at the plaza entrance to Maumee Bay
                    Brewing on Broadway Street.

 • Sept. 7 — Pop Flies in the Warehouse District, meet at Monroe and St. Clair streets.

 • Sept 14 — Up Town, Down Town, meet at Madison Avenue and 14th Street by the
                    Toledo Club.
