Husted directed the legislative effort to reform the tax code that included a 21 percent across-the-board income tax cut, the largest income tax cut in Ohio history. Additionally, he led the House to pass the most fiscally conservative budget in more than 40 years.
In his early years in the Legislature, Husted championed efforts to improve education by expanding school choice options for Ohio children and families and furthered these efforts in the 126th General Assembly with the unveiling of the Ohio Educational Choice Scholarship Program, which provides educational options to children and families.
Husted continues to pursue opportunities to improve the economic climate of Ohio. By refocusing Ohio’s system of higher education on science, technology and affordability, he hopes to further the vision and role Ohio’s colleges and universities have in our economic success.
Prior to his service in the Ohio House of Representatives, Husted, a long-time advocate for business development, served as vice president of Business and Economic Development at the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce. He resides in Kettering where he represents the 37th Ohio House district.
