New Spanish/English coloring book released

Sisters Sharon Mentkowski and Camille Zeiter (née Osorio)—the owners of LANGUAGE Especially For You, LLC—told La Prensa that they are excited to release their company’s latest product, SPANISH Especially For You Color-And-Learn Los Animales.

It’s a bilingual coloring book that helps children learn Spanish while having fun. A sample page from the book is on page 23 of La Prensa.

SPANISH Especially For You Color-And-Learn Los Animales contains 20 single-sided coloring pages illustrated with animals such as a duck, dinosaur, and donkey.  Each easy-to-color animal is accompanied by its name in English and in Spanish, and it also provides the proper way to pronounce it in Spanish.

The book is printed on quality white paper so children can use the book as a resource long after they’ve finished coloring it.  The introductory price for the bilingual book is $7.99.

SPANISH Especially For You Color-And-Learn Los Animales is the second Spanish-teaching product-line produced by the sisters.  Last July, they launched a line of SPANISH Especially For You CDs that can be personalized and customized for each child with a choice of more than 20 kid-friendly categories.  The prices for the CDs range from $12.99 to $24.99, and they are geared toward ages 0 to 8.

The products are available for sale online at www.LanguageEspeciallyForYou.com.

Mentkowski says there are surprisingly few products available for parents that help children learn Spanish. “Parents are amazed at how much Spanish their youngsters are learning from top-rated shows like Go, Diego, Go! and Dora the Explorer,” she said.

“But some parents feel there’s little else they can do to teach their children more Spanish because Mom is intimidated by not knowing enough Spanish herself.  That’s why we provide a pronunciation for each animal in the coloring book, and why we’ve made the CDs parent-friendly too.”

“Our products are great for Latino families who want to make sure their youngest generation continues to speak Spanish.  Our color-and-learn books and CDs get children excited about learning Spanish, and imagine how excited abuelita will be when she hears her nieto speaking Spanish!”

Mentkowski, a former television reporter in Buffalo, NY, is also a part-time instructor at Buffalo State College and is a member of the Latino Business Owners Association.  Her sister Camille lives in Toledo, where the CDs are produced.

Their mother is a native of Honduras.
