Afterglow for and from Thomas M. Salazar

“I’d like the memory of me

to be a happy one,

I’d like to leave an afterglow

of smiles when life is done.

I’d like to leave an echo

whispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times and laughing

times and bright and sunny days.

“I’d like the tears of those who

grieve, to dry before the sun

of happy memories that I leave

when life is done.”

Thus, recited the family of Thomas M. Salazar, when Tomás departed this Earth Plane some fortnight ago.

Thomas was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 12, 1980 to a loving and giving family. He gave in return.

.
Tomás was a talented artist and his greatest joy graphically was when he was painting his moniker/graffito—Heist—on some railroad car that sojourned across the country, but he was always careful not to smudge the rolling stocks’ numbers.  Samples abound.
.

His multitude of family and friends gave tribute to him at Walbridge Park last Friday, September 23, as depicted in the photograph to the right. Also pictured is Thomas with his canine Shorty and a sample of his art and signature.

¡Que te vaya bien, Tomás!
