12-year old wins another national wrestling title

Felipe Martínez loves to wrestle; he has been wrestling since age 2 and he is now 12.

He has won numerous national titles and in 2004 was part of the Cliff Keen All Star Wrestling Team (Division 3, 76 lb. weight), by his achieving the Triple Crown of wrestling—1st place in the Cliff Keen Kickoff tournament, 1st place in the Tulsa Nationals, and 1st place in the Great Lakes Tourney.

On Nov. 19, he won first place (Division 12, 100 lb. weight) at the Cliff Keen Kickoff Classic in Tulsa.

Felipe is the son of Joe and Cookie Martínez, formerly of Genoa, Ohio—the family relocated to the Dayton, Ohio area so that Felipe could receive training from an Olympics level coach.

Felipe’s older brother Joe is also an excellent wrestler. Felipe also has one sister, Concepción.
