Mexican Mutual Society hosts Cinco de Mayo Parade and Festivities
This Saturday, May 7, beginning at the Oakwood Shopping Center in Lorain, the Mexican Mutual Society ( MMS ) will host its annual Cinco de Mayo Parade, beginning at 4:30PM , followed by a dinner/dance at the Hungarian Reform Church, located at 1691 E. 31st Street.
Doors open at 5:30PM at the church with the Lil’ Queen Coronation at 7:00PM. Music is by Los Aztecas de Toledo (8:00PM to Midnight).
This year the queen is Ariaha Espitia, age 6 (right photo on page 1), who attends Lakeview School and loves Girl Scouts and T-ball. She is the daughter of Robert & Heidi Espitia and granddaughter of Robert & María Espitia and Michael & Robin Smith.

This year’s princess is Desirae Ann Ibarra (center photo, p. 1), daughter of Israel Ibarra and Tabitha Basford, and granddaughter of Juan Ibarra & Sylvia Encalado and Sonny & Ann Chibley. Desirae, 7, attends South Street School in Vermilion and loves singing and dancing.
The Dutchess is Annabella Marie Filchuk (left photo, p. 1), daughter of Robert Filchuk & Veronica Gutiérrez, and granddaughter of Francis Morales-Caraballo and Domingo Gutiérrez. Annabella, 5 yr., attends Lowell School and loves swimming, singing, and dancing.
