The Second Annual Daddy’s Daughters & Sons Menudo Cook-Off, sponsored by Legacy Golf Course in Ottawa Lake , Michigan , in memory of  Richard Rodríguez, who passed away on March 10, 2002 of lung cancer, was held on May 22 at Luna Pier Ballroom, Luna Pier, Michigan .

First place in the Cook-Off was awarded to Emilio Guerrero from the Sunnyside Cafe in Adrian . The Menudo Cook-Off is held to raise funds for the Relay for Life CancerFest, scheduled for June 4 and 5, 2005, at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.
