Toledo : On Saturday, May 7th, the reception for the 10th Annual Latino High School/Jr. High Art Show was held at the South Branch Library. Entries were made from all over Northwest Ohio . The art show was juried by Chuck McQueenie, professor in the Ohio University School of Art. He stated that he was impressed by the quality of the entries in the art show. The show is sponsored by the Office Bilingual Ed. & Related Programming of Toledo Public Schools and the Arts Council Lake Erie West. There were two categories—technique and composition. In the technique category, Kara Mendoza took first place, Karen García took second place, and Megan Schwartz took third place.
In the composition category, Manuel Martínez took first place, Albert Castillo took second place, and Renee Briones took third place. In the photo, the art work of Megan Schwartz is shown. The art show will be displayed at the South Branch Library conference room during the month of May. The public is welcome to come and view the art work.
