Jimena signs with Univison Records

Young and talented singer-songwriter has inked a record deal with Univision Records and is in the studio preparing her debut album with the label under the production genius of internationally acclaimed producer Emilio Estefan Jr.

Following a long year of intense promotional work, a myriad of shows and a great success in the Latin music industry, the new favorite blond of México and the U.S. is back stronger than ever with an uncontainable desire to share her new musical production, which was released simultaneously in México and the U.S. on March 18^th.

“En Soledad ” is comprised of soft ballads and a great collection of danceable tracks in the ‘Cumbia Vallenata” format.  The first promotional single is the title track, which was penned by Jimena herself in collaboration with Salvador “Clayton” Becerril. 

The release will be available in an optional CD/ DVD combo package and will include special musical collaborations with artists such as Gloria Estefan, who co-wrote one of the tracks with her.  Legendary ‘Norteño’ band Los Huracanes Del Norte also collaborates on a bonus track version of the title track, which they recently recorded in México City .

“I am really excited about this project, because I get to work once again with Emilio and Gloria, and this time around my dream of working with Jose Behar also becomes a reality. 

“This new album has more of an international sound without leaving behind the essence of who I am, of course.  My goal is to continue sharing the beauty of México and my native language trough music,” stated Jimena.

With special showcases for media slated for March in Los Angeles and México City, and an extensive promotional tour in Texas, California, New York, Florida, Puerto Rico, and México that commenced in February, Jimena promises to be one of the hottest recording artists of 2005.

Undoubtedly, “En Soledad” will give much to talk about, not only for its top caliber quality and sound, but also for its dynamic and talented artist, who co-wrote a vast majority of the songs included in the album.
