La Liga de Las Americas

To the Editor of La Prensa

I attended Latino Fest in Toledo for about the third or fourth time.  I had a very nice time, but again I am disappointed that other Latino cultures were missing.  I am a Cuban-American and would have LOVED to see at least one booth with Cuban cuisine.  Cuban cuisine is one of the fastest growing trends in restaurants today, but it is non-existent in northwest Ohio . I know that we have a huge Mexican-American population here (and I LOVE Mexican food), but it would be great if Cubans could get a little representation at Latino Fest. Thanks for letting me vent a little.

Best Wishes,

Editor’s response:

Every effort by the LatinoFest committee is made to secure diversified food, music, arts, and crafts for LatinoFest. This was accomplished this year in all avenues but food. Cuban, Puerto Rican (and so forth) vendors are welcome but have been difficult to find. There are no Cuban restaurants in Toledo and Detroit only just recently secured one. Anyone is welcome to join LatinoFest. Feel free to partake.
