Granholm appoints five to Commission on Spanish Speaking Affairs

Michigan Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm announced on Jan. 3, 2005 , the following appointments and reappointment to the Commission on Spanish Speaking Affairs: 

Enrique Carrillo of Bloomfield Hills, vice president of public affairs/manager of the Hispanic Initiative with Comerica Bank.  Carrillo is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 10, 2007 .

Debra M. Rivera-Ehrmann
of Auburn Hills, community services specialist/health care coordinator of Easters Seals “El Centro La Familia.”  Rivera-Ehrmann is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 10, 2007 .  She succeeds John Sánchez whose term expired. 

Arminda García of Flint , a school social worker with Flint Community Schools.  García is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 10, 2007 .  She succeeds Emily Martínez whose term expired.

Henry A. Sánchez of Saranac, currently employed in sales with Co-Cards.  He is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 10, 2007 .  He succeeds Randall Fernández whose term expired.

Luisa-Inez B. Schumacher of Grand Rapids , marketing director for Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids, Inc.  Schumacher is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 10, 2007 .  She succeeds Johnny Morales whose term expired.

The commission was created to develop policies and plans to serve the needs of Michigan ’s Latino residents.  The Commission consists of 15 members. These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Michigan Senate.
